Volunteers Needed!
St. Lucian and Jamaican nationals needed as United Nations Volunteers for the Climate Risk Adaptation and Insurance in the Caribbean (CRAIC) project!
The Climate Risk Adaptation and Insurance in the Caribbean (CRAIC) project team is searching for 4 Jamaican nationals and 2 St. Lucian nationals to work as United Nations (UN) volunteers to raise awareness of disaster risk management and risk transfer mechanisms from July to December 2018. The UN Volunteers will be provided with a stipend to assist with living costs.
The CRAIC project assists Caribbean countries in their efforts to increase social resilience and adapt to climate change by incorporating climate risk insurance within a broader framework of disaster risk reduction strategies. The project aims to refine and expand the index-based Livelihood Protection Policy (LPP) to make climate risk insurance more affordable and accessible to all people in the Caribbean, especially individuals and communities vulnerable to climate risk.
